RPG Night with Cliff #8 - Numenera (July 21st, 2016)

RPG Night with Cliff

Delpax 60 40 (Martin) a Mystical Nano who controls gravity.
Chuck the Younger (Tim) is a Weird Nano who rides the lightning.
Dandy Dan (Phillip) is a Forceful Jack who fights with panache.
Dan Maanlie (Caleb) is a Rugged Glaive who performs feats of strength.
Woodchuck (Mark) is a Clumsy Glaive who works miracles.
Finnetti Del Ray (Lex) is a Clever Nani who talks to machines.

Remi (Gracie) is a Empathic Glaive that controls beasts.
Cosner (Kevin) is a Mutant Jack who explores the deep
Von Bossman (braden) is a tough Glaive who fuses flesh and steel

Franzglik (Scott) is a Strong-Willed Jack who focuses mind over matter
Stenson (Kyle) is a Charming Nano who crafts unique Objects
Arenil Teross (Andrew) is a clever Nano who fuse flesh and steel
Dag Kastloff, (Mike) a craven Jack who Murders

Shaiesa (NPC) is a Reliable Glaive who bares a Halo of Fire

The last 3 train cars carrying our group of adventurers arrives at a train station very similar to the one they had left hours prior. The only big difference was that this one was a little more collapsed with a large hole in the ceiling 80 ft above the train.   The group safely climbed out of the station.  They are faced with an area with abundant nature and a few ruins.  They made camp for the night in a set of ruins, an uneventful night occurs, causing the group to be a little on edge.

They set off following the directions they had been given by Duvall. Half way through the day they hear screaming in the distance.  Much discussion is had on whether to check out the screams or proceed down the path even though the majority votes to keep on the path they end up going to the screams.  They come across a lake where they see 80ft tall distorted statues. The screaming comes from the statues it seems.  The group proceeds down the hill, noting a shack a ways off that they hope will have a boat that they can use to get out to the statues to investigate.

On their way down Delpax 6040 (not a robot) trips while hovering and roles out onto the water, which he discovers is more like a caustic goo. He then runs to the nearest statue to get out of the lake. At this time the group notices that there are no animals or insects around the lake. Van Bossman, Cosnor and Dandy Dan proceed to the shack looking for a boat to rescue Delpax.   Remi (and Alphonse) and Dag the cowardly stay at the beach (actually nobody knows where Dag really is). The shack appears to have been abandoned many years ago but a sturdy row boat is found.   Von rows, Cosnor is in the bow on look out and Dandy Dan acts as coxswain.  They safely make it to the staute.  Von picks at the statue to get some of the plaststeel substance, Dandy Dan cuts at a hose to see if they statue is chained in place.  Nothing unusual happens, as they row back Dandy Dan is ill and Delpax does not look well.  Upon arriving back at the beach Dag examines Delpax who seems alright and Dandy Dan who seems to be suffering from a stroke as his left arm has gone weak and his lips have turned blue.

They climb back up the hill Von falls  knocking Delpax down again.  This time it is Von's turn to fall into and across the water.   Since it was Von and Delpaxs idea to come to this place the rest of the group waits up to for Delpax to row out and rescue Von.  Strangely Von has sprouted an arm out of his back, a limp baby like arm that hangs there. When the two adventurers make it to the top of the hill  Delpax is feeling weak.  They make camp near a set of ruins closer to the trail they were following.  Dandy has discovered that his palms are now producing a sticky substance that he can control the flow of turning his hands into sticky pads.  Delpax has started to take on a green colour and has grown small feathers, he feels weaker but also seems to float a little higher when he hovers.

The next day they head down the path and come across a Tattooed wiry man carrying a large pack.  They find out he is a travelling tattoo artist who can make tattoos that act like ciphers.  After much haggling Delpax, Von, Dag and Remi get tattoos done.  Dag also discovers while he and Cosnor are trying to heal Delpax that Delpax has the bones of a bird now.  They camp with Lurax for the night, spending yet another uneventful night.  (Funny how the group gets more jumping with the more calm and restful nights).

The next day they come into a ravine where they see the field of towers.  As they enter the Ravine they notice 3 figures crouched down behind some ruins. Dag disappears into the brush as does Remi and Alphonse.  One of the 3 figures motions for the group to get down, the group notices that there is a giant worm infront of the strangers. Dag successfully gets closer, Dandy Dan with a flourish does not act stealthy and attracts the attention of the beast. He manages to leap out of the path of a substance that the worm spits out, luckily as the substance solidifies on contact.  Von rises and sends out a beam from his arm lance...............
